Our favorite Mexican food spot EVER. Estrada's has been part of my whole life. It's our favorite Mexican food place not only in Escondido, but in the whole world. Their shredded beef brisket with potatoes is SO good. It's great in their unique & delicious gorditas, in a burrito & with anything else. They also have some of the best machaca, mole, & fajitas I've ever had.
This is a family run business & they have SO MUCH HEART. They are all so hard working but always take the time out of their busy work day to talk with us because we're regulars.
I 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone & everyone!!! -

Restaurants commonly open and close across the landscape of my town. Why then do I mourn the closing of Estrada's? Any answer must start with the family. Today's cheerful servers were cheerful toddlers when I first entered Estrada's doors so long ago. And we seldom recognize the charm and life value of this humble continuity. Of course I will mourn the passing of her Gorditas, her Negra Modelo on tap. How sweetly genuine the openness of her kitchen to her diners. But most of all the smiles that unfailingly greeted me as I walked through her door. Oh yes, our town will lose a jewel soon. My hope is that the dear folk that have long enhanced my life will find new joys. May they laugh and prosper anew.

We love Estrada's. Fresh, family homemade food. Salsa es picoso and chips delish! Best handmade GORDITA's! Taquitos are light and crispy. I love the thinner tortilla they use for the taquitos. The carne Asada is seasoned with lots of black pepper which gives it a unique and crave worthy flavor.

This place is awesome.
They have great beans!
It's a tiny restaurant nestled behind a large Mexican restaurant so it's easy to overlook but do yourself a favor and hit this place up!
One of the best things is they offer ground beef options so people who are picky have more options than standard places.
They have inexpensive combos daily that include rice and beans. Their fajitas both the steak and chicken are excellent quality meat with impeccable seasoning. You can't beat their fresh tortillas either.
The only thing that would make this place better is if they offered cooking classes so when the time comes that they are ready to retire, the rest of us (who will dearly miss them) will be able to enjoy their food at home. -

Coming from LA this was a great gem of a find for me. Very clean, cozy & excellent Customer Service. This is the 1st Mecican resturant I have found in Esco that come close to the fabulous taste of ELOS (East LA), Mexican resturants.
As soon as I tasted their chips & salsa I knew the foid was going to be good here. A popular item is their Gorditas, was very good. Your choice of different meat stuffings. I had a Gordita and taquitos, very satisfied.
Price points are excellent for selection of food choices. I liked this Mexican restaurant better than Mi Guarjara on the corner of 2nd. I will definitely be returning to try diffenent entrees here.
***** Highly Recommend ~
